How Did It Grow... into a College Campus (Multi-Day Event)
All Day

How Did It Grow! ........Into a College Campus exhibit will be on display through July 18, 2014 in the Halle Library Archive & Museum Gallery at Endicott College, Hale Street Beverly, MA. Exhibit is free and open to the public, Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact Barbara Broudo at 978-232-2257. What did the Endicott College campus look like in 1939 when the college was founded? This exhibit explores the physical history of the property, and the growth and changes that have created todays’ campus while preserving some of the original iconic plantings. As additional acreage was added, the ledge, swamp and woods have been transformed into one of the most beautiful ocean front college campuses in the country.

The American artist Theresa Bernstein (1890–2002) made and exhibited her work in every decade of the twentieth century. Bernstein's style began as a kind of realism, often linked by critics to the Ashcan School, but ended up more expressionist. Musically inclined, she was a fan of opera,dance and jazz: She painted Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Charlie Parker, and Martha Graham, as well as Verdi’s Requiem. Her subjects include suffrage meetings, World War I parades, immigrants in the 1920s, hippies in the 1960s, and scenes of the fishing port and artist colony Gloucester.

This exhibition includes 44 works that are travelling from New York City,Pennsylvania, Boca Raton, Florida, and Endicott College. Please see Symposium for specific programming.

How Did It Grow! ........Into a College Campus exhibit will be on display through July 18, 2014 in the Halle Library Archive & Museum Gallery at Endicott College, Hale Street Beverly, MA. Exhibit is free and open to the public, Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact Barbara Broudo at 978-232-2257. What did the Endicott College campus look like in 1939 when the college was founded? This exhibit explores the physical history of the property, and the growth and changes that have created todays’ campus while preserving some of the original iconic plantings. As additional acreage was added, the ledge, swamp and woods have been transformed into one of the most beautiful ocean front college campuses in the country.

The American artist Theresa Bernstein (1890–2002) made and exhibited her work in every decade of the twentieth century. Bernstein's style began as a kind of realism, often linked by critics to the Ashcan School, but ended up more expressionist. Musically inclined, she was a fan of opera,dance and jazz: She painted Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Charlie Parker, and Martha Graham, as well as Verdi’s Requiem. Her subjects include suffrage meetings, World War I parades, immigrants in the 1920s, hippies in the 1960s, and scenes of the fishing port and artist colony Gloucester.

Join fellow alumni and friends for The Misselwood Concours d’Elegance. This boutique classic car show displays a wide variety of magnificent cars and motorcycles, combined with art, fashion shows, musical entertainment, an oceanside brunch option and even a fancy hat competition. Attracting spectators from across New England, the Concours d’Elegance has become the must-attend event of the summer.


Funds raised from this event, through ticket sales and sponsorships, will go directly towards Endicott scholarships benefiting current and future students by providing financial opportunities and allowing them to continue their higher educational dreams.
